Yorkshire’s oldest PR and marketing agency tprc. has launched a sister agency, dedicated to serving businesses and organisations in the agriculture and agribusiness sectors as well as fieldsports.

Red Stag Media is a national full service PR and marketing agency born from a deep passion for the countryside. It was also born from an equal desire to give businesses and organisations linked to the rural economy, a competitive edge through creative content and communications.

Red Stag is the brainchild of tprc.’s MD Nick Glaves, whose family roots lie in farming in North Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Creative director Dan Urben, who has a great love of the outdoors, dogs, and adventures, makes up the other half of the founding duo.

The rural economy in Yorkshire alone is thought be worth upwards of £15bn every year.

Farming in the UK is a vitally important part of the overall economy as well as meeting the majority of our domestic food consumption needs. Overall, agriculture annually contributes around £24 billion of revenues and around £8.5 billion of Gross Value Added to the UK economy. Agriculture also provides around 475,000 jobs directly, as well as supporting a further 30,000 jobs through procurement activity benefiting other sectors of the UK economy.

Farming also plays an important role in managing the environment of over 70% of the UK’s land area. Farmers are responsible for managing both important landscape features and providing habitats for wildlife of local, national and international importance. The overall value of these habitat and species protection services is estimated to be worth around £672 million each year.

There are so many great stories to be told from the rural economy and we’re looking forward to playing our part in telling some of them.

We will, of course, continue to provide the same great service to all our TPRC clients and it will still be Nick and Dan handling most of the work on their behalf.
